Let your life be your greatest masterpiece.
You are the art and the artist.
Everyone has the ability to create, but not everyone sees themselves as an artist—or believes they can be one. What if I told you that you could be an artist today without even picking up a paintbrush?
The Sentimental Hummingbird is a creative home for those willing to uncover the artistic nature that exists within themselves and their lives. It’s about discovering the parts of you that give your life meaning and in return, giving life to that newfound purpose. This space is for those who have struggled to reach that. Those who have had a difficult time loving who they are because they’re so far from who they want to be.
It’s for those who have faced the depths of despair only to discover that love and purpose have been within them all along. If you haven’t found it yet, that’s okay. You’re here now, reading this, and that alone is proof that a part of you already knows the feeling—the deep, unshakable knowing that there’s more to you waiting to be embraced. Let your life be your greatest masterpiece.
So you're ready to become the artist of your own life… How do you do that?
Developing Your Very Own Creative Home
Behind every creative project, there’s a human being. No matter how big or small, each one requires some level of work and a form of sacrifice. A passion so emotional and a devotion so powerful is required of you to bring something in your mind, into your life. That dedication is the essence of divinity. I want people to access what that means — and what it’s worth — starting within themselves, in their own creative home.
You have the opportunity in you, everyone does, but can you believe it? The Sentimental Hummingbird is here to help you achieve your full potential and understand your human experience and struggles through various creative outlets.
Redefine artistry, reclaim yourself, and trust the process.
Having a strong sense of faith pushes you forward into the unknown, leading with bravery and love instead of fear. There’s something profound in the vulnerability, peace, failure, and agony that come with the process. In each and every one of your waking moments, you are creating your own process. This is the magic I am referring to often throughout what I share in this space. Sometimes there is no good, no bad; these are interpretations. It all simply just is.
What will you do with it?
I decided I'd create an online community through social media to showcase the creativity I've practiced throughout my healing journey and initiate conversation amongst those who are on a similar path. I aim to inspire others to also unlock their hidden or locked away creativity.
I've chosen to share my own journey online because I realized many things that we all may embark on, are often hidden behind the backdrop of the typical day. But doesn’t it make sense to break down the walls of something so rigidly structured? To highlight how daily living can become misaligned if we stop paying attention to what's within and how that affects what's outside of us? Isn't it more sound to face the reality behind it all: the mental health struggles so many creatives face, the connections intertwined within the human experience, and the cycle of creation and destruction that defines every aspect of life. We have the option to immerse ourselves, and share, infused with love—love for yourself, your process, and what you’re offering to others.
The Point In Trying
Change Your Mind, Change Your Life.
At any moment, you have the power to create the life you deserve. Within you, there’s a calling—an ancient, intuitive force urging you toward your highest self. It’s woven into the story of your life, waiting for you to tap into it.
As an artist who has battled with mental illness, lost faith, and has often spiraled into the darkness of self-doubt and self-hate, I grew determined to create what I call a “creative home.” This is a space for anyone on a similar adventure—those who feel an undeniable pull toward something greater but maybe can’t yet see how to get there. The universe is urging you to shift your circumstances. One way I’ve learned to move forward is by destroying what no longer serves me—the heavy energies, the negative thoughts—and transforming them into something extraordinary. Although I've done this through visual art (meaning I have picked up a paintbrush over and over again) it is absolutely possible to achieve with other and without traditional mediums of creativity. My goal here is to showcase both conventional and unconventional methods and concepts of creation to encourage self-love, faith, and empowerment thus improving your overall lifestyle. You have the power to transmute your pain into something that moves you in a better direction.
Change your mind, change your life. You are the art and you are the artist. Through this mindset, I've learned that creation isn’t always about grand gestures (which has helped greatly during art blocks). I've realized it’s about being open to identifying and transforming the hollow spaces within you. It’s about realizing that even something as mundane as a trip to the grocery store can hold the seeds of creation. That something as basic as taking a few deep breaths can hand you an invitation towards enlightenment. Exercising our creativity is deeply personal and looks different for everyone, but it always transcends traditional ideas of what it means to be an artist.
We are all creators of our lives when we accept, support, and embrace everything that we are — the messy, the raw, and the real. Art exists everywhere, even behind the canvas, on every corner of the world. Set yourself free and remember that the Sentimental Hummingbird is here to remind you of this truth and guide you in discovering and honoring the most radical art of it all: the one that resides within the creative home of your heart and soul.
